First day of classes

June 29
Today was the first day of classes. I am taking two classes, and a mandatory culture class. I went to my Global Issues class this morning. After class I went to lunch(it was very good) and then to my Irish Drama class. The last class I had was a Irish culture class that all students and faculty have to take. It is an interesting class. I am learning so much about Ireland. I like my classes. I can already tell that it's gonna be a good semester.

Sightseeing trip

June 26-28

For three days, we took a trip through the Ring of Kerry. One of the towns we went through is Cobh, where we went out on the beach. We stayed in Kilarney. It was a nice little town. We also went to Blarney, where I got to see Blarney Castle and kiss the Blarney stone! I have always wanted to do that! The last place we went to is Kilarney National Park. It was absolutely beautiful! It was like being in a postcard. At one of our stops, I got to hold a lamb and a goat! :) God's beauty can be seen everywhere. Much more pictures and information coming soon.

Out and about

June 25

Well, today I get to experience my first full day in Ireland! To get the day started, I had a full Irish breakfast(bacon, sausage, hash browns, eggs). It was very good! After breakfast, we all took a bus downtown. Our program directors gave us a tour of downtown Waterford. It is such an amazing place! It is the home of the Waterford Crystal. We'll get to have a tour of the Waterford Crystal and see how it is all made. Once we left downtown, we drove to Dunmore and Tramore. These are the coastal areas of Waterford. It was so awesome! I just love the coast! After we left, we drove back to campus. Now, I have some free time to do whatever I want. It is almost 5pm here(hey, it's 5 o' clock somewhere). Tomorrow, we are going to travel outside of Waterford. We'll be gone for a few days. It is gonna be a blast! I'm so excited about it already!

What a day!

June 23-24 2011

These past couple of days have been quite interesting. I have been awake on maybe two hours of sleep, if you could actually call it sleeping. I have gone through three time changes. It is so easy to forget about the time. The flight from Atlanta to Frankfurt, Germany was the longest flight I had ever been on. The airplane food wasn't bad. The pasta was pretty good, and the brownie made a great dessert (yum!) Once we arrived in Frankfurt, we were able to take a grand tour of downtown Frankfurt. It was great! The tour guide pointed out some buildings and gave a brief history about each of them. Once we were done with the tour, we stopped to eat in the square. I had bratwurst for lunch. It was the first time I ever tried it. I liked it a lot. I also had banna gelato for dessert(yummy!) I could not leave Germany without getting some kind of souvenir, so I got a sticker that says Germany. After the tour, we went back to the airport where we waited for about three hours. There was a slight delay on our flight, but that was ok. We still made it to Dublin in plenty of time. From Dublin, we drove three hours to our destination in Waterford. It was easy to find my room and get settled in. Well, I'm gonna go to sleep, so that I can be up and ready for a day of activities tomorrow in Ireland! Woohoo!
